Davis Tabbed HCAC Athlete of the Week
Following a record-setting performance on Saturday, Anderson University women's basketball standout Izzy Davis was tabbed the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.
Anderson went 1-1 on the week. The Ravens (2-2) fell to Ohio Northern University (3-0) by a score of 84-67 on Wednesday in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium. Anderson charged past Kalamazoo College (0-3) by a score of 109-66 on Saturday in Kalamazoo, Mich. The Ravens took down the single-game school scoring record with 109 points. Anderson also broke single-game school records in 3-pointers made (23) and 3-pointers attempted (49).
Davis notched 26 points against Kalamazoo while going a perfect 10-for-10 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from 3-point range. The freshman guard from Indianapolis broke the single-game school records for field-goal percentage and 3-point field-goal percentage. Davis also provided three steals. Against Ohio Northern, Davis turned in seven points. On the week, Davis averaged 16.5 points, two steals and one block, while knocking down 6-of-7 (85.7 percent) shots from behind the arc and 13-of-17 (76.5 percent) shots from behind the arc.
The Ravens take on St. Mary's College (Ind.) (3-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Notre Dame.
