City of Elwood recently issued the following announcement.
Urgent Need For Blood
An important message from Megan Borgmann with the Indiana Blood Center, or Versiti Blood Center of Indiana.. With less than a day's available supply, communities throughout the state face a potential crisis as LOCAL hospitals may not have the blood needed to treat patients. Versiti provides blood and blood products to 90 hospital partners throughout the state, including the hospitals in Madison county.
St. Vincent Mercy has stepped forward to host an emergency blood drive on our bloodmobile at St. Vincent Mercy TOMORROW WEDNESDAY APRIL 20th. Would you be able to help us promote this emergency need blood drive?
Urgently seeking blood donors! Due to COVID, we’re in a nationwide blood crisis. The blood supply is dangerously low – the lowest in a decade. The need is dire. Please consider joining us at our Community Blood Drive at St. Vincent Mercy WEDNESDAY APRIL 20th and help us save lives right here in ELWOOD!
