Anderson Community School Corporation recently issued the following announcement.
We are currently in negotiations with the Anderson Federation of Teachers (AFT) on a new collective bargaining agreement for teachers and other certified staff at ACS.
A lot of information has been circulated about these negotiations. Which is why we felt it important to share our current proposal publicly both for clarity and transparency.
We understand that the success of our school district depends on our ability to recruit and retain the best educators and support staff for our students. Which is why we are committed to working with the AFT on an agreement that increases teacher and other bargaining unit members salaries in a thoughtful and responsible way.
We will maintain open lines of communication with the AFT throughout the bargaining period and until an agreement can be reached.
