Individuals who have nasal discharge may be exhibiting one of the chronic sinusitis warning symptoms, according to medical experts.

Sinusitis, if left untreated, can result in major problems such as vision loss, secondary infections and loss of smell and/or taste; however, according to some medical professionals, treatment for the ailment is simple and quick.

“Our philosophy is to provide the very best state-of-the-art care for chronic nasal and sinus problems utilizing the latest minimally invasive technologies to allow for physiologic treatment and maintaining normal nasal function as well as reduced pain and shorter recovery times," Dr. Anthony D. Sanders of the Indy Sinus Center said. "Typically people can be back to work within a few days after the procedure.”

Sinusitis is a condition in which the spaces between the nose and head (sinuses)  become swollen and inflamed for three months or longer, despite treatment; if the sinuses remain inflamed for more than three months, it is referred to as chronic sinusitis.

The most common symptoms of sinusitis include a yellow, green, or clear discharge from the nose and drainage down the back of the throat, as well as nasal blockage or congestion that makes breathing through the nose difficult.
